I love koalas. They’re one of my favorite animals (my other one is a hammerhead shark!). I spent a few months traveling the South Pacific a few years ago, and I was able to see koalas up close and personal while in Australia. I still count it as one of the coolest experiences of my life.
Koalas are a great way to start getting kids excited about nature. They are cute and cuddly, but they are also really unique. Koalas look like a bear, but they are, in fact, a marsupial. They’re only found on one continent on Earth. Koalas are excellent swimmers. Oh and they’re really picky eaters (but like really picky).

So I decided to make a fun video (keyword being fun!) specifically for kids (K-5) that talks all about koalas.
And, since I’m the daughter of a retired K-5 teacher, I had to include some activities to go along with it! You can download the field guide below and fill it in as they learn all about koalas. Teachers can use it in their classroom to supplement animal studies, and parents can use it to help reinforce the video.
What if the kids in your life can’t get enough of koalas? Then also check out these other videos and blogs for more fun activities including learning how to bellow like a koala!
